I didn’t plan to quit. I just didn’t want to feel owned by it anymore.
I started vaping in my early 20s — casually at first. At work. After drinks. On late-night walks. I never smoked, so it didn’t feel like a bad habit.
But within a year, I couldn’t go more than an hour without reaching for it.
I hated how it made me feel: anxious, foggy, and dependent. But every time I tried to quit, the cravings came back like a wave. Gum didn’t work. Going cold turkey made me irritable. Even those “quitting vapes” apps just made me obsess over it more.
Then a friend DM’d me something called FÜM.
It looked more like a piece of modern art than anything health-related. A wooden tube. No lights. No vapor. Just a core you pop in — infused with essential oils like peppermint or cinnamon.
I ordered one just to try something new.
From the first inhale, it was… weirdly satisfying. There was no buzz, but I didn’t miss it. The flavor and feeling of using it scratched the exact itch I had with vaping — without the downside.
Day by day, I started reaching for FÜM more and my vape less. Not because I forced myself. But because I didn’t need it.
By the second week, I realized I’d gone two days without a single puff of nicotine.
No patch. No prescription. No shame spiral.
Now, it’s been 6 months. No relapses. No “I’ll just have one.” Just freedom — and I still use my FÜM when I feel fidgety or need to reset during the day.
If you’ve struggled to quit, but hate the idea of quitting, FÜM might be the missing piece. It was for me.
